Kurt Darren is a South African singer, songwriter, and television presenter best known for his energetic Afrikaans pop and dance music.

Born Kurt Johan van Heerden in Pretoria, he rose to fame with hit songs such as Meisie Meisie, Kaptein, and Loslappie, becoming one of the most recognised artists in the Afrikaans music industry.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Kurt Darren has released numerous successful albums and earned multiple South African Music Awards (SAMAs).

In addition to his music career, he has worked as a television presenter and appeared in several South African films, remaining a popular entertainer both locally and internationally
