Zaan Sonnekus

Zaan Sonnekus is a talented South African musician, songwriter, and singer from Bloemfontein in the Free State. He currently lives in Pretoria. Zaan was born Cecezaan Sonnekus, and his passion for music began at a young age when he received his first guitar for his tenth birthday. Since then, music has become his obsession, with the goal of turning it into a career.

Although he considers himself a happy person, he uses songwriting as a way to deal with anger and pain. Zaan’s main goal is to share his stories and experiences in a powerful and honest way, and to touch the hearts of millions of people worldwide through his music.

In October 2021, Zaan released his debut album, “Zonneblom”, which marked his official entry into the Afrikaans music industry. The album has already touched and changed the hearts of many, and Zaan’s unique sound and passion for music promise to make a lasting impact on the music world.
