Lianie May is a South African Afrikaans singer, songwriter, and actress known for her heartfelt ballads and strong presence in the local music industry.

Born Lianie Oosthuizen on 2 August 1976 in Vereeniging, she grew up on a farm near Oranjeville in the Free State. She rose to fame after launching her music career in 2007 with her debut album “Vergeet My Nie”, which produced major hits such as “Soen My Nie Meer Nie” and “Pretoria.”

Her success quickly established her as one of Afrikaans music’s top-selling female artists, earning multiple awards and widespread radio play. Over the years, she has released several successful albums and also appeared in films such as “Platteland”. Known for her relatable lyrics and country-influenced pop style, Lianie May remains a popular figure in South African entertainment.
