Pieter Smith

Pieter Smith was born in Potchefstroom on 19 August 1975. He completed his schooling at Hoërskool Gymnasium. From his early primary school days, he showed an interest in music and plays guitar, piano, and trumpet.

He studied Music Education and began singing professionally at the age of 18. Performing in numerous orchestras, he sang and played folk music, boeremusiek, jazz, and even hard rock. He also did session work for, among others, Helena Hettema, Eden, and Chris Le Roux. However, his true passion is undeniably Afrikaans music. Pieter Smith made his CD debut with “Rooikar” in 2002.

Pieter entertains thousands of people with feel-good Afrikaans sing-along songs from the FAK , Afrikaans TV favorites, Afrikaans golden hits, and brand-new original material that he has written himself.
