Manie Jackson
Manie Jackson is an Afrikaans country singer.
At the 2011 SAMA Awards, he won the award for Best Country Music Album. He has been nominated four times for a “Huisgenoot Tempo” Award and three times for the Ghoema Awards. He has released eight studio albums under Select Music, all of which achieved Gold, Platinum, Triple Gold, or Double Platinum status in sales. His total sales have surpassed 350,000 units. He is currently among the Top 10 best-selling artists in the Afrikaans music industry, and his live performances are also very popular.
He is also the most awarded artist of all time by the official SA Country Top 10’s Melodie Awards. His duet album, “In Duet Met Ons Legendes”, features collaborations with some of South Africa’s greatest legends, such as Bles Bridges, Gé Korsten, Carike Keuzenkamp, Bobby Angel, Min Shaw, Lance James, Clive Bruce, Jody Wayne, Barbara Ray, the Briels, and more. In 2017, he released his 8th album, “Palms van my hande”, and in 2018, his latest album, “Op ‘n hoë noot”.
In 2018, he also received a Ghoema Award as the most popular male singer, as voted by the public.
Manie Jackson also received a Udo Jürgens Award from Austria/Germany for his song Leef vir Hom (Live for Him).
